Welcome to Inclusive Business Africa Activist

Inclusive Business Activist recognizes that the private sector in particular small, medium and large enterprises are a pivotal catalyst for economic growth and job creation.

What is inclusive business all about?

Inclusive business models are sustainable business solutions that expand access to goods, services and livelihood opportunities for low-income communities.
This involves doing business with low-income populations anywhere within a company's value chain, incorporating them in the supply, production, distribution and or marketing of goods and services.
This creates new jobs, incomes, technical skills and local capacity.
By focusing on commercial viability, these models have demonstrated inherent capacity to be scaled to engage thousands, and increasingly millions of poor people. The emphasis is on “core business” rather than philanthropy.

What is the base of pyramid? How many people make up this demographic?

The base of pyramid model is widely used model worldwide to describe the living standards of the world population. It is used as a shorthand to describe individuals living below a given spending threshold or income.
Using a cutoff of $3000 per person per year in purchasing power parity, the estimate is that there are 4 billion people at the base of the pyramid.
Inclusive business is mainly intended for the sustainable business in which people at “BOP” (Base of the economic pyramid) in developing countries are involved as consumers, producers, distributers, or any combination thereof. The inclusive business is also expected to resolve the various problems for developing countries which include water supply, commodities, (supply of) service, poverty reduction and so on.
